ADVANCE voting  for  the  2020  General Election began in Viet Nam, Eswatini, Bangladesh and Hong Kong yesterday.

Seventy  Myanmar  nationals  in  Viet  Nam  cast  ballots  at  the  Myanmar  Embassy  in  Hanoi, and 17 citizens in Eswatini, which  has  a  total  of  26  eligible  voters, cast ballots in Matsapha.

Eighty-seven  nationals  in  Hong Kong voted at the Myanmar Consulate-General Office in Hong Kong, while 27 in Bangladesh, which has a total of 29 eligible voters, cast their votes at the Myanmar Embassy in Dhaka.

Advance  voting  in  some  countries also continued at the respective embassies yesterday —1,570 citizens voted in Tokyo, 1,800 in Singapore, 1,009 in Seoul, 50 in Moscow, 136 in Bandar Seri Begawan and 1,045 in Bangkok.

The  respective  embassies  provided  temperature  check,  hand  sanitizers,  disposable  gloves  and  face  masks  for  the  voters  in  line  with  COVID-19  preventive measures. Myanmar citizens also cast votes abiding by COVID-19 guidelines.  Myanmar citizens abroad  cast advance votes at nine Myanmar embassies and one Myanmar Consulate-General Office yesterday.
