ACTING on a tip-off, the Tatmadaw (Navy) conducted a search on a Min Htet Tha-3 motorboat in the sea, approximately 193 nautical miles northwest of Kawthoung of Taninthayi Region, at 9 pm on 17 February.

Nyein Chan Lwin, Kyaw Lin Htun (aka) Kyaw Gyi, Hla Myint Htun and Ye Kyaw Thu (aka) Ko Ye were arrested by Tatmadaw (Navy), along with the seizures of 1.298 tonnes of Ice (methamphetamine) valued at K45.43 billion.

The arrestees admitted that the seized Ice (methamphetamine) will be transported from Shan State to Yangon Region and then sent to Malaysia’s waters by sea through the mouth of the Yangon River.

Legal action has been taken against them, and officials are conducting ongoing investigations to identify the chain of crime.
