The oral hearings in the Gambia-Myanmar case are being held from 12 to 29 January at the International Court of Justice in The Hague, Netherlands, with the second day of hearings continuing at 3 pm on 13 January.

During the second day of hearings, Gambian lawyers alleged that the Myanmar Tatmadaw had carried out a counter-terrorism operation on Bengalis in northern Rakhine State, claiming that the Border Guard Police and people’s militia were involved in the killings, and that the Rakhine people were also involved in the killings, citing fabricated testimonies from Bengali witnesses. Gambia conducted the first round of pleadings for the third day from 10 am to 1 pm and from 3 pm to 6 pm local time on 14 January.
