The Seminar on Intellectual Property Right Laws was held at the meeting hall of the Mandalay Region High Court under the supervision of the Supreme Court of the Union yesterday, via online and in person (Hybrid).
U Thein Ko Ko, the Judge of the Supreme Court of the Union, and Daw Hla Myint, Chief Justice of the High Court of the Mandalay Region delivered opening remarks respectively. Then, Daw Tin Nwe Soe, Director-General of the Office of the Union Judiciary Supervision explained the implementation of awareness-raising seminars on intellectual property laws, and U Khin Maung Myint, Head of the Judicial Office of the High Court of the Mandalay Region, the objectives of the seminar.
At the Seminar, Daw Aye Aye Hlaing, the Director of the Department of Alternative Dispute Resolution and Case Specialization, gave a presentation titled “Summary of the Four Types of Intellectual Property Laws”; U Myo Kyaw Aung, District Judge of the Zeyathiri District Court, “Cases under the Copyright Law”; Daw Lwin Lwin Hlaing, Deputy District Judge of Aungmyaythazan District Court, “Cases under Patent Law”; U Soe Khun Phyu, District Judge, Pyinmana District Court, “New Patent Law and, New Issues, Challenges and Role of Intellectual Property Court”; and U Min Thant, Deputy Director of the Dispute Resolution and Case Specialization Department, “Various Aspects of Trademark Law” and discussed various topics about intellectual property law.
The Justice of the Supreme Court of the Union, the Director-General of the Union Judicial Supervision Office, two deputy directors-general, directors and judicial officers, members of the IP Working Group attended the seminar via online, while chief justices and justices of High Court of the Mandalay Region, judicial officers and judges at district level and judicial officers from Mandalay Region, and members of the Mandalay Bar Association, totalling 109 attended the seminar in person.
